Mikes own words: "I probably went overboard with the engines, but I fitted a Saito FA82a which fits perfectly. It really needs to be run in off the model until the vibration is down, but the engine is pretty smooth now and sound fantastic in the model. The silencer is supplied by Just Engines as the Saito one was a non-starter and would have looked a mess. Just engines also supplied custom threaded knuckles to get the exhaust angle correct, no oil on the model after a flight"

"Since I decided to fit a three blade prop just like the full size version I’ve really yet to find the right size, but we tried a 12x8 on a just engines alloy spinner and peak revs are roughly what Saito suggest and there is no end of power. I actually thought the 12x8 might have been too much, but even with light winds the landings were a breeze, I was expecting it to keep flying past at idle but it dropped just fine."

"Our weather forecast for tomorrow is very good up here at Inverurie near Aberdeen; it’s our first fly-in so I might get another flight or two with the Zlin. I need to pin down throws and exponential values, so I’ll pass these if I find improvements. Prop size will have to wait till next week till another few arrive in the post."

Thanks for the superb photos Mike and I'm glad you like the model. Mike also suggested beefing up the main undercarriage and checking all the glue joints and adding glue if you feel it is necessary as is good practice on all artf's.
